Autism Tutor – Lewisham
Location: Lewisham, South East London
Pay: £25–£35 per hour PAYE + paid PPA (1 hour per 5 tuition hours), equivalent to £30–£42 per tuition hour including PPA
Hours: Flexible Part-Time / Full-Time Opportunities
New Chapter Tuition is recruiting experienced Autism Tutors and SEND Tutors to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to children and young people aged 5–25 across Lewisham.
You will support autistic learners who may also have ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, anxiety, sensory needs or EBSA. Learners may be accessing EOTAS, alternative provision or awaiting a suitable school placement.
Tuition is delivered in homes, libraries, community venues, schools and alternative provision settings.
The Role:
- Deliver engaging, personalised 1:1 tuition
- Adapt learning around communication, sensory and individual needs
- Support academic progress, confidence and engagement
- Work towards EHCP outcomes and personalised targets
- Use a patient, relationship-led and flexible approach
- Complete session and progress reports
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of tutoring experience – essential
- Experience supporting autistic children or young people – essential
- Strong SEND knowledge and understanding
- Confident planning and delivering tuition independently
- QTS/QTLS or education background advantageous
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
