Are you a Mechanic, Motor Vehicle Technician, Engineer, Youth Worker, Sports Coach or Behaviour Mentor looking for a career where your skills can make a genuine difference?
New Chapter Tuition is working exclusively with a specialist Alternative Provision in Gosport to recruit a Vocational Learning Mentor to join their team as soon as possible.
You’ll support young people across KS3–KS5 with SEMH, ADHD, SEND, emotional and behavioural needs. Using practical, hands-on and vocational learning, you’ll help learners re-engage with education, develop confidence and build skills for their future.
The role will involve:
- Delivering practical vocational learning 1:1 and in small groups of up to 8
- Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
- Supporting learners with SEMH, SEND and behavioural needs
- Using effective de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies
- Developing confidence, resilience and independence
We’re particularly interested in candidates from mechanics, motor vehicle, engineering, youth work, sports coaching, cadets, vocational training, alternative provision or behaviour mentoring backgrounds.
Previous teaching experience is advantageous but not essential. We’re looking for practical skills, resilience, strong relationship-building ability and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
