General Manager – Alternative Provision
Location: Essex
Salary: £37,000–£42,000 per annum

New Chapter Tuition is working exclusively with an established Alternative Provision provider to recruit an experienced General Manager for their Essex provision.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced manager with a background in education, Alternative Provision, SEND, SEMH or vocational learning. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the provision, leading staff and ensuring high standards of education, safeguarding and learner support.
The Role
- Lead the day-to-day operation and performance of the provision.
- Manage, motivate and develop a multidisciplinary team.
- Oversee education delivery, learner engagement and outcomes.
- Maintain excellent safeguarding, compliance and health & safety standards.
- Build strong relationships with local authorities, schools, families and external professionals.
- Drive continuous improvement across the provision.
About You
- Previous experience as a Manager, Assistant Manager or established Team Leader.
- Experience within education, Alternative Provision, SEND, SEMH or a related environment.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and educational policies.
- Experience working with local authorities and multidisciplinary teams.
- Confident managing staff, performance and operational priorities.
- Proactive, forward-thinking and able to adapt quickly within a fast-paced environment.
QTS is not required.
