New Chapter Tuition is recruiting for an experienced Support Worker or SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated 3:1 specialist support team supporting a Year 11 male student with complex additional needs in the SS1 area.
Working alongside a tutor and another experienced support worker, you will play a vital role in helping the young person access education, develop confidence and make progress in a safe, structured and nurturing environment.
The Role
- Support a Year 11 male student during daily tuition sessions.
- Work alongside a tutor to deliver personalised learning.
- Collaborate with another experienced support worker to provide consistent, high-quality support.
- Provide personal care with dignity, respect and professionalism.
- Use Team Teach strategies to support emotional regulation, behaviour and safe de-escalation.
- Encourage communication, independence and engagement throughout each session.
- Record observations and communicate effectively with the wider support team.
Essential Requirements
- Current Team Teach certification (essential).
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND and complex needs.
- Comfortable providing personal care.
- Calm, patient and resilient approach to behaviour support.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
