Location: Southwark, London

Salary: £28,914–£34,502 FTE (pro rata, dependent on experience)

Contract: Part Time | Permanent | Term Time Only – 39 Weeks

Hours: 3 days per week | 8:30am–4:00pm | Tuesday essential

New Chapter Tuition is recruiting exclusively on behalf of a specialist independent school in Southwark for an experienced and compassionate School Counsellor.

The Role:

  • Deliver 1:1 trauma-informed counselling and therapeutic interventions
  • Facilitate group sessions around emotional regulation, anxiety and social skills
  • Assess students’ emotional, psychological and social needs
  • Provide crisis support, de-escalation and safety planning
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching staff, CAMHS and other professionals
  • Maintain confidential records in line with safeguarding requirements

About You:

  • Degree in Counselling, Psychology or a related field
  • Accredited membership of a professional body such as BACP, NCS or UKCP
  • Minimum 2 years’ counselling experience with children or young people
  • Experience delivering trauma-informed therapeutic interventions
  • Confident supporting ASD, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety and complex needs
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
