New Chapter Tuition is recruiting exclusively on behalf of a specialist independent school in Southwark for an experienced and compassionate School Counsellor.
The Role:
- Deliver 1:1 trauma-informed counselling and therapeutic interventions
- Facilitate group sessions around emotional regulation, anxiety and social skills
- Assess students’ emotional, psychological and social needs
- Provide crisis support, de-escalation and safety planning
- Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching staff, CAMHS and other professionals
- Maintain confidential records in line with safeguarding requirements
About You:
- Degree in Counselling, Psychology or a related field
- Accredited membership of a professional body such as BACP, NCS or UKCP
- Minimum 2 years’ counselling experience with children or young people
- Experience delivering trauma-informed therapeutic interventions
- Confident supporting ASD, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety and complex needs
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
