Our stunning care home, Guiseley Manor Care Centre, is a purpose-built 72-bed care facility situated in the town of Guiseley, in the heart of West Yorkshire, Leeds. The home provides the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care to residents with a variety of care needs, including residential, nursing, and dementia care. It reflects the New Care vision of safety, comfort, and quality, investing in the latest technology and offering a purposeful program of daily activities and gentle exercises to enhance residents\’ wellbeing. All team members are selected for their warmth and passion, with full induction and ongoing training provided by in-house trainers and the New Care Academy. Notably, New Care has not used agency staff for over 5 years, employing a permanent staff team to ensure continuity of care from staff who know and residents trust. Across New Care, staff are paid at least the national minimum wage.
We are seeking to appoint kind, caring, and compassionate Care Assistants to join our team. You will deliver quality care to residents in line with agreed Care Plans and contribute to the efficient running of the care home. We offer a full-time contract with an hourly rate of £12.21. Shift times are 19:45-08:00, with alternate weekends.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver “hands-on” care to residents in a person-centred manner.
- Support residents to enjoy a good quality of life.
- Model best practices when delivering care.
- Assist residents in all aspects of their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs in line with care plans.
- Contribute to residents\’ daily records.
- Work effectively as part of a team and undertake delegated tasks efficiently.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of adults in contact with the post holder.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Experience at Care Assistant level is preferable.
- Care certificate or equivalent, or willingness to achieve this within 12 months.
- Good knowledge of care practices for older people.
- Understanding of the 6 principles of care and their application in residential/nursing settings.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Self-motivated and confident.
