Facilities Supervisor in Birmingham

Blue Arrow are recruiting for a Facilities Supervisor in Birmingham.

Requirements

• Monday to Friday full time availability
• Knowledge of health and Safety, compliance and data protection
• Experience in facilities operations, site security and contractor management
• Supervisory experience with staff teams.

Main Responsibilities

Facilities Operations

• Manage daily site maintenance, cleaning rotas, and consumables stock.
• Oversee contractors and service schedules, ensuring compliance and value for money.
• Operate and monitor site security systems (intruder alarms, access control, key holders).
• Maintain accurate records of fire, gas, and equipment servicing; conduct weekly fire alarm tests.
• Support room bookings and external hires, ensuring excellent customer service.

Compliance & Safety

• Implement health & safety procedures, including COSHH and task-specific risk assessments.
• Support fire drills, evacuation procedures, and food hygiene checks with the maintenance team.
• Ensure cleaning staff follow safe practices and maintain required documentation.

Staff Supervision

• Lead and motivate cleaning staff, managing rotas, training, and performance reviews.
• Provide cover for cleaning duties or site opening/closing when required.

Administration & Support

• Issue staff and visitor ID badges.
• Liaise with IT support and Heads of Service to maintain equipment inventories.
• Assist with policy development, audits, and community events.

Collaboration

• Work closely with the Compliance & Facilities Manager to improve risk management and service standards.
• Deputise for the Manager when required.
