The Trustees are looking to recruit to the post of Qualified Upper Key Stage 2 Class Teacher at Hollinwood Academy. Hollinwood Academy is part of the New Bridge Multi Academy Trust and provides a broad and balanced curriculum to support children from reception to Key Stage 4. The Academy is committed to meeting the needs of pupils with autism and other speech and language difficulties through innovative curriculum design.
Responsibilities
- Have knowledge and experience of the upper KS2 National Curriculum, assessment, teaching and learning.
- Have knowledge of autism and an understanding of how children with autism learn differently from neurotypical peers.
- Use your knowledge and understanding of autism to adapt teaching to meet the diverse needs of children with ASC.
- Apply ASC strategies to adapt learning to meet the needs of all children.
- Deliver a broad and balanced curriculum and adapt learning to meet the needs of our children, staying up to date with the KS2 National Curriculum.
- Use a wide range of communication tools to communicate with children and young people across the school.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous improvement and innovation by delivering imaginative, adaptive lessons that meet the individual needs of children, in line with their EHCPs.
- Show emotional and physical resilience when working with children with a range of complex needs.
- Have experience in enhancing children’s progress and raising attainment for all pupils.
- Assess and track children’s progress to ensure all learners are making progress.
- Foster good relationships with other staff, children, parents and the wider community.
- Be hardworking, organised and proactive in professional development.
Qualifications & Experience
- Primary teaching experience with a strong background in Upper Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.
- Knowledge and understanding of autism spectrum conditions and strategies for inclusion.
- Commitment to safeguarding, child welfare and continuous professional development.

Fixed term contract for 12 months. Commencing September 2026. Initially based at Hollinwood Academy, Roman Road, Hollinwood, Oldham, OL8 3PT. Staff may work at any site within the New Bridge Group.
