Are you passionate about tackling homelessness and poverty in Reading? Able to offer your time on a voluntary basis? Following some natural attrition, New Beginnings Reading is looking for two enthusiastic individuals to join our Board of Trustees and help shape our strategic future.
About Us
We are a grassroots charity dedicated to supporting those who are homeless or vulnerably housed. From providing essential items to offering long-term signposting, we’re all about creating fresh starts.
Who We’re Looking For
While we welcome all dedicated individuals, we are particularly keen to hear from those with expertise in:
- Fundraising
- Community Engagement
- Strategic Planning
- Financial accounting/bookkeeping
We also highly value the lived experience of homelessness or poverty. We want a Board that truly reflects the diverse community we serve. Challenge us—tell us what we aren’t thinking about!
The Commitment
Meetings: Every 6 weeks (usually early evenings). Format: A healthy mix of in-person (Reading, Berkshire) and remote. Role: Strategic oversight, financial guidance, and being a champion for our mission.
