We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to support the smooth operation of our childcare centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and fostering their development. The Deputy Nursery Manager will assist the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily activities, staff supervision, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.

  • Assist the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring high-quality care and education for children.
  • Support staff in planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
  • Supervise nursery staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure a motivated team.
  • Oversee the safety and wellbeing of children at all times, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and nursery activities.
  • Organise staff rotas, manage resources efficiently, and ensure the nursery operates smoothly during working hours.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures in line with regulatory standards.
  • Support recruitment processes by participating in interviews and staff induction programmes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of childcare provision.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working within a nursery or early childhood education setting.
  • Strong management and leadership skills with previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of childcare regulations, health & safety standards, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and enthusiasm.
  • Relevant qualifications in early childhood education or childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent).
  • A caring attitude combined with organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.

This role offers an engaging environment where your leadership can make a meaningful difference in young children's lives while supporting a committed team of childcare professionals. Working hours are 4 days a week 7.30am-6.00pm. Bonus day off for your birthday. Working 51 weeks of the year with a week closure for Christmas. 4 weeks annual leave as well as Bank holidays off. Pay: Up to £32,000.00 per year. Work Location: In person.
