New Barton Contracts Limited carry out Ceiling, Partitions, SFS and PFP works primarily within Devon and Cornwall, and we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the commercial management throughout the lifecycle of our construction projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects, ensuring financial efficiency and project success.

  • Review of contractual requirements, risk & opportunity review and assistance with tender pricing.
  • Monitor project expenditure and identify areas for cost optimisation without compromising quality or safety standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports on financial status, highlighting any discrepancies or potential overruns.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal, safety, and environmental regulations throughout all stages of the project.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar role within the construction sector, with a minimum of 20 years’ experience.
  • Strong expertise in cost control, budgeting, and financial management of construction projects.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Chalkstring, Excel and Bluebeam.
  • Good understanding of contractual procedures and legal aspects related to construction projects.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management are preferred.
