JOB MISSION: New Balance is offering a 1-year paid internship to an undergraduate student, currently in a special year of study, eager to pursue a career in Product management. The role will support Lifestyle footwear Product management, to drive superior product offerings on a seasonal basis to surprise and delight the New Balance consumer. Training and support will be given. You will gain broad knowledge of product management, the footwear creation process, domestic and overseas manufacture, and the New Balance label.
Responsibilities
- Participate in building Made in the UK Strategies for business and product.
- Develop familiarity with the product briefing process, consumer groups and target costs.
- Support product management in systems, data reporting, sell in document creation, sample organisation and shipment.
- Attend product design and prototype reviews and share thoughts and ideas.
- Track projects from planning, through design and prototypes to sell in.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the product creation process, products and systems while adhering to the product creation calendar.
- Conduct market and trend research to gain a full understanding of the needs of the consumer and evolving marketplace.
- Support on ad hoc projects as required.
Qualifications
- Passionate about sneaker culture and attentive to style details.
- Currently studying a degree in a relevant subject, for example, Product management, Product/Fashion design and management, Merchandising/buying, business/management or marketing.
- Excellent written and spoken English and knowledge of MS Office packages.
- Knowledge of how to use Adobe packages beneficial.
- Highly organized and consumer focused with a desire to succeed with a growing brand.
- Self-motivated, ability to work as part of a team or alone.
- Creative and innovative thinker.
- Attention to detail on product/documents/systems.
- Analytical problem solver, with strategic approach.
- Confident in expressing ideas and giving input on product/strategies.
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills.
- Team player.
- Needs to be able to provide the right to work in the UK.
- Full UK driving license.
- Must be able to travel within UK and possibly Europe.
