Job Mission
New Balance are offering a 1 year paid Internship to an undergraduate student, currently in penultimate year of study, with a desire to follow a career in IT. This is an exciting opportunity to learn about daily operations of the EMEA IT department and the wider business, experiencing hands-on hardware and software-based support to associates across EMEA, collaborating with the wider IT teams and a multitude of IT vendors, and supporting key IT Infrastructure projects. Travel opportunities to visit other sites across region, including manufacturing facility in Flimby, Cumbria to see behind the scenes of its IT operation. Training and support will be provided throughout, and you will gain a broad knowledge of a global business.
Major Accountabilities
- Provide 1st line support for IT Service Requests onsite and remotely to associates across EMEA region, using ITSM (Freshservice) platform for ticket handling.
- Escalate Service Request tickets to application and technical teams where needed. Partner with wider IT Support teams to identify resolution and technical/process improvements.
- Provide associates with hands-on training for IT systems and resolve ongoing issues. Publish IT comms and user guides related to technology platforms where vital.
- Maintain audio/visual equipment in corporate offices and provide support/training to users.
- Assist with new associates IT onboarding to ensure IT requirements (hardware, software and access) are setup by start date. Connect with hiring managers to provide updates and conduct IT induction sessions to new associates.
- Review IT documentation and Standard Operating Procedures required for IT projects and support.
- Support wider EMEA IT Infrastructure Team with ongoing projects. Participate in an Agile team.
- Collaborate with Procurement teams to maintain and order stock of IT equipment onsite.
Requirements for Success
- Studying a degree in a relevant subject, for example, Information Technology or similar.
- Understanding of Microsoft Windows and Office 365 Suite.
- Problem-solving ability and pro-active approach.
- Interest in IT and new emerging technologies.
- Good Customer focus (User Experience) with effective communication methods.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong organisation & Time Management skills.
- Self-motivated, ability to work as part of a team or alone. Great teammate.
- Must be able to provide the right to work in the UK.
