The Global Community Engagement and Grants Associate will support the New Balance Foundation (NBF) with their charitable efforts and drive engagement and participation for all our EMEA Associates through volunteering programs across our global communities. This position offers a unique opportunity to further gain hands-on experience in grant management, volunteer coordination, and corporate philanthropy.
You will assist with grant making in New Balance Foundation\’s focused markets and manage our hallmark associate engagement effort, \”NBGivesBack\” with the Global Grants Manager. Our Associate play a key role in executing NBF\’s global in-kind donation process and this role is an integral part to ensure engagement is maintained throughout the year.
Key duties include organising donation logistics, coordinating with internal systems and suppliers, and ensuring compliance with financial and operational processes. Driving the story behind each charity is key so having strong communication skills is essential within this role.
This role will require regular travel across the UK & Europe as well as occasional trips to the US. We offer hybrid working and a flexibility to working hours to accommodate for a healthy work life balance.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support the end-to-end grant making process in collaboration with the Global Grants Manager, including coordination of application intake, grantee documentation, and grant lifecycle tracking
- Provide guidance throughout the grantee lifecycle, from application submission through to payment, in coordination with platforms such as Global Giving and Impact Assets
- Ensure all NBFI grantees meet submission and compliance requirements in line with NBF\’s grant cycle
- Maintain and regularly update grantee records in the BlackBaud Grant Management database.
- Join grantee site visits and partner calls, supporting the Global Grants Manager with programmatic oversight and relationship management
- Assist with the preparation of visit summaries, learning memos and reporting data
- Liaise with grantees to ensure timely submission of final and mid-year reports and support impact reporting processes when required
- Draft grantee communications and follow-ups on behalf of the Global Grants Manager as needed
- Contribute to storytelling efforts by gathering data and photo/video assets to help communicate the impact of grantee partnerships
- Serve as the central point of contact for all in-kind donations made by New Balance Foundation and other partners across EMEA
- Own and lead the full lifecycle of the in-kind donation process
- General administration duties- track product order status, new supplier set ups, raise PO\’s, VAT reporting,
- Maintain compliance for all donation documentation
- Track all in-kind giving across regions and ensure data is accurately reflected in internal reports
- Coordinate and liaise with internal associate Charity Leads across global offices to facilitate associate volunteerism and give-back activities.
- Assist with the promotion of volunteer opportunities, sharing volunteer success stories and updates on social media.
- Plan and lead quarterly charity leads meetings and maintain a centralised calendar of volunteering opportunities for associates.
- Oversee the planning and delivery of key annual engagement events, including June Volunteer Month and the annual Holiday Giving Drive.
- Track and document all charitable activity across NB global offices
- Create and handle ESG annual reports
- Manage the NBF partner and associate engagement plan across Europe, ensuring alignment with NBF\’s community goals and brand values.
- Work with the global Philanthropy team to align on social media and communication strategies
- Liaise with charity partners, external agencies, and associate volunteers as needed to gather necessary assets and content for internal and external communications
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
- Educated to degree within the relevant field – NGO Management, HR, Public Administration, Communications
- Previous experience in grant making, non-profit partnerships, or philanthropy
- Previous experience as a volunteer or volunteer coordinator is required
- Knowledge of donor databases and CRM software (eg. Benevity) is beneficial
- Detail-oriented and organised with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Exceptional written and verbal communication
- Confident to present and engage with internal and external stakeholder
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Enthusiastic and passion for NBF\’s mission and objectives.
- Passion and interest in sport-based, youth development and health programming
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Speaks fluently in English, additional languages would be advantageous
