Are you a newly qualified accountant looking for a role with real ownership, senior-level exposure and an interesting business behind the numbers?
We’re recruiting a Management Accountant to join an ambitious organisation operating within the TV & Entertainment space based in the heart of Glasgow.
Working closely with the Finance Director and senior leadership, you’ll sit at the heart of a fast-moving, project-led business, taking ownership of management accounting/reporting while gaining a strong understanding of the commercial and operational activity driving performance.
It’s a broad role with plenty of visibility.
You’ll own key reporting processes, support senior decision‑making, manage a Finance/AP Assistant and gain exposure across projects, corporate reporting, audit and wider finance.
For a recently qualified accountant, it offers the opportunity to build commercial experience, broaden your remit and take on meaningful responsibility early in your post-qualified career.
This will be predominantly office based role.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and supporting analysis
- Deliver monthly reporting for senior management and external stakeholders
- Take ownership of the balance sheet, reconciliations and investigation of variances
- Prepare and post payroll journals across projects and overhead cost centres
- Manage monthly accruals, prepayments, revenue deferrals and associated journals
- Prepare UK VAT returns and a relevant international tax submissions
- Support revenue and royalty reporting
- Maintain the fixed asset register and monthly depreciation
- Support statutory accounts, year-end reporting and audit deliverables
- Line manage and support the development of the Finance/AP Assistant
- Contribute to wider finance projects and process improvements
- Candidate Specification
- Ideally recently or newly qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Previous experience within TV, entertainment, media, production, creative industries or another project‑based environment would be advantageous
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
- Technically strong, with up‑to‑date knowledge of accounting standards
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with accounting/ERP systems
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central, Dynamics 365 or similar would be advantageous
- Confident communicator, able to build strong relationships with finance and non‑finance stakeholders
- Proactive and comfortable taking ownership of your workload
- Able to work independently while knowing when to seek input or guidance
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and managing competing deadlines
