This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced FP&A and Finance Transformation professional to join an award-winning TV and content production studio at a pivotal point of change within its finance function.
Working closely with the Finance Director, you will have the opportunity to make a real and visible impact: reshaping the FP&A function, redesigning management reporting and building the models, processes and insight that will support better commercial decision-making across the business.
This role requires someone who has built, improved and implemented change before: someone who can quickly understand the current environment, identify what needs to change and then get hands-on to make it happen. You will have genuine scope to influence how the finance function operates and affect change.
Crucially, you will have experience working within TV, film, entertainment, content production, streaming or a closely related media environment, giving you an understanding of the commercial and financial complexities of the sector.
This role is initially a 3-6 month contract but could have the scope to be longer term for the right person. It's hybrid working, requiring you to be in their lovely Central London offices at least 3 days a week and looking for a quick start.
Responsibilities include:
FP&A & Commercial Finance
- Develop and strengthen budgeting, forecasting and long-range/3-year planning.
- Build financial models and scenario analysis to support commercial decision-making.
- Improve KPI, variance, production and secondary sales reporting.
- Partner with senior stakeholders and budget holders, challenging assumptions and identifying risks and opportunities.
- Improve the quality and commercial value of financial information provided to management.
Management Reporting & Finance Transformation
- Review the existing management accounts, reporting processes and underlying data flows.
- Redesign and rebuild the management accounts and reporting pack, creating clearer, more insightful and commercially relevant reporting.
- Design and implement robust management reporting models.
- Review and automate Excel models and processes, reducing manual intervention, duplication and risk.
- Support the evaluation and implementation of appropriate FP&A, consolidation, reporting and BI solutions.
- Build more efficient, scalable processes that leave the finance function in a significantly stronger position.
Candidate Specification:
You will be a highly capable, hands-on FP&A professional with a proven track record of finance transformation and building improved reporting environments.
- Previous experience within TV, film, entertainment, content production, streaming or a closely related media business.
- Preferably professionally qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent)
- Proven experience building, developing or transforming an FP&A function.
- Demonstrable experience redesigning management accounts and implementing improved management reporting models and packs.
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning and financial modelling capability.
- Advanced Excel and Power BI skills.
- An understanding of production finance, budgeting, cost tracking and content revenue models.
- Ideally, exposure to scripted and/or unscripted financing structures and distribution/licensing revenues.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to turn complex financial information into meaningful insight for senior stakeholders.
- The ability to work at pace, operate autonomously and turn ideas into practical change.
