As the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and overseeing the financial operations that drive the company’s continued growth. Reporting to the Head of Finance, your remit will be split between leading the client finance/payments team and supporting broader group finance responsibilities. Fast-paced and constantly evolving, this business requires someone sharp, proactive, and confident in managing complex, high-volume finance operations. The role will give you exposure to both the commercial and creative sides of the business and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on its continued success.

This role is offering a highly competitive £salary and would require you to be in the Centrally located offices at least 4 times a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a small client finance/payments team, ensuring accurate invoicing, commission handling, query resolution, and timely payments.
- Partner with the wider business; act as the finance interface for client teams, driving meetings on commission reporting, outstanding invoices, job reconciliation and manage escalated issues
- Oversee VAT, withholding tax, payroll preparation, pension administration, and serve as a senior escalation point for payment and compliance queries
- Drive projects to enhance the finance and client payments teams, driving efficiencies and maintaining a high reputation within the wide business and external stakeholders
- Support the Head of Finance with month/year-end close, group consolidations, budgeting, forecasting, audits, and preparation of accounts for SPVs and subsidiaries
- Drive process and systems improvements in client finance, embedding best practice and delivering training to ensure high-quality standards across the team
- Serve as a super-user for key financial systems (SAGE, Xero, etc.), supporting enhancements and delivering training as needed
About You
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong post-qualification experience
- Track record in the entertainment/media/creative industries; prior client finance/talent management accounting experience is highly desirable
- Experience of managing both month & year end accounting, including managing the audit process
- Experience managing and developing a small finance team in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Strong technical skills and a solid understanding of VAT, withholding tax, and industry finance nuances (SSC experience beneficial)
- Advanced system knowledge, particularly Excel and leading accounting software (SAGE, QuickBooks, Xero)
- Confident communicator with a collaborative style, able to build relationships across teams, clients, and stakeholders
- Highly organised, detail-orientated, and solutions-driven, thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
