A superb opportunity has arisen for a recently qualified Accountant to join one of the world’s leading Entertainment groups. This award-winning organisation is a major producer and distributor of high-quality, multi-genre content and has a significant footprint across both the UK and international markets.
The UK division comprises multiple production labels and a highly successful distribution arm. Known for its creativity, scale and pace, the business offers exceptional exposure and the chance to work at the heart of a dynamic, fast-moving industry.
We are specifically seeking an individual who has qualified within a reputable accountancy practice, ideally with exposure to clients in the TV/Film or wider Entertainment sector. This background will give you a strong technical grounding and an understanding of the unique financial considerations within production and content-led businesses.
Joining the Financial Accounting/Reporting team, you will play a key role in delivering statutory and external reporting requirements across the UK group, while also supporting an internal projects. This is a fantastic role for a newly/recently qualified Chartered Accountant looking to make their move into industry, allowing for great development of your technical expertise within a large, complex media environment.
This is a hybrid role where you will be required to be in the London office 2‑3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and delivery of statutory financial statements for multiple UK entities, including SPVs
- Support the preparation of consolidated group accounts
- Assist with annual audits and act as a key liaison for external auditors, Group Finance and UK finance teams
- Support the implementation and monitoring of group accounting policies and internal controls
- Ensure changes to accounting standards are properly assessed and implemented
- Act as a technical point of contact for UK finance teams, providing guidance on financial reporting matters
- Input into commercial assessments relating to technical accounting changes
- Assist with tax submissions and associated reporting
- Prepare and submit returns to relevant industry bodies
- Support intercompany reconciliations and wider internal finance projects
Candidate Profile
- Fully qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) with a strong practice background (minimum 3 years’ audit/financial accounting experience)
- Ideally trained in a reputable accountancy practice with exposure to clients in TV, Film, Media or Entertainment
- Strong technical accounting skills with solid knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 101 & FRS 102) and IFRS
- Experience working with large groups and consolidation accounting
- Confident communicator with the ability to interact with and influence a broad range of stakeholders
- Highly organised, detail‑focused and capable of working to statutory deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Self‑motivated, proactive and committed to continuous improvement
- Strong working knowledge of UK tax principles
- Collaborative team player
