A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a technically strong, qualified accountant to join a leading, multi-award-winning Entertainment Group as a Financial Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will take ownership of Group accounting, statutory reporting, compliance and taxation across a fast-growing and creative business. Renowned for its innovative work and strong industry reputation, the Group operates across both the UK and the US and continues to expand its highly successful portfolio. This role would suit a candidate who trained within a top-tier accountancy practice and has experience working with Media, Entertainment or other creative businesses. Candidates with some post-qualification experience in industry (within a Media/Entertainment/Creative company) are preferred, although strong recently qualified accountants (1–2 years PQE) straight from practice will also be considered. You will need to be technically confident, with a solid understanding of Group consolidations and statutory reporting. This is an office-based position.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare quarterly bank reporting, including Group P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and covenant calculations.
- Support internal quarterly reporting and rolling forecasts alongside the FD and FP&A teams.
- Produce annual Group consolidations and statutory accounts for the Group and its subsidiaries, including tax workings.
- Act as the main point of contact for external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
- Oversee overhead cost reporting, audit accruals and corporation tax journals and reconciliations.
- File dormant accounts, compliance statements and other statutory documentation as required.
- Calculate quarterly corporation tax payments on account.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
- Coordinate P11D preparation with third-party providers and file annual PAYE Settlement Agreements.
- Administer Group and intercompany dividends and the UK pension scheme.
- Set up and manage Group recharges and monthly intercompany reconciliations.
- Act as payment approver for central finance.
- Support system and process improvements and assist with ad hoc projects alongside divisional finance teams.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent), ideally with 1–2 years’ PQE.
- Trained within an accountancy practice, with exposure to Media, Entertainment or creative sectors preferred.
- Strong technical accounting skills, including Group consolidations.
- Good understanding of UK Corporation Tax, VAT and PAYE.
- Awareness of UK statutory and audit requirements.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Proactive, collaborative team player with the confidence to work independently.
- Positive, motivated and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using CaseWare highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
