Are you a newly qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with experience in TV, Film, or Media? Looking for a role where you can take full ownership of finance while having the support of a group-level CFO when needed?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading SME TV Production company, part of a larger media group, known for producing thought-provoking content enjoyed by audiences in the UK and US.
The Role
As the Finance Manager / Financial Controller, you’ll take full responsibility for the finance function, ensuring the smooth running of all financial operations. Reporting to senior management, you will oversee an Accounts Assistant, provide key financial insights, and ensure robust reporting and compliance. While this is an autonomous role, you will have the guidance of a CFO within the wider group when needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the monthly management accounts, including balance sheet review and reconciliation
- Manage the full month end close process, ensuring timely financial reporting
- Revenue recognition for both production and distribution activities
- Deliver the month & quarter end reporting for the parent company
- Responsible for the year end audit and dealing with any auditor queries
- Manage the budget planning and preparation
- Supervise, train & develop a Finance Assistant
- Quarterly VAT Returns
- Monthly payroll for all staff and freelancers
- Manage the monthly cashflow and cashflow forecasting
- Oversee the purchase and sales ledgers, approving and interacting with the business as required
What We’re Looking For
- Recently qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with relevant experience in TV, Media, Film, or Entertainment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills – able to build great relationships across the business
- A team player with a hands-on approach, happy to support with transactional tasks when needed
- Experience with Sage X3 and/or SAP (desirable, but not essential)
- Excellent Excel skills and a keen eye for detail
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to take ownership of financial processes
