An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager/FC and people leader to join a growing SME at the forefront of TV, film, and talent management industry. As Finance Manager/FC, you will play a pivotal role in managing and developing the client finance and payments team, ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient operations across a complex and high-volume workload. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible not only for day-to-day processes but also for motivating and guiding the team, setting goals, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance. This is a role of two halves, with the other seeing you responsible for the month end process, annual audits and group consolidations.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a fully qualified accountant with prior experience managing a transactional finance team. You must also have worked within a creative, media, or entertainment company, and be comfortable adapting your approach and thinking on your feet to resolve issues as they arise. You will partner the talent management arm of the business to ensure an effective and efficient service is provided and that monies are both received and paid in a timely manager. The role requires someone confident in rolling up their sleeves and getting directly involved when needed, leading by example in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a small client finance/payments team, ensuring accurate invoicing, commission handling, query resolution, and timely payments.
  • Partner with the wider business; act as the finance interface for client teams, driving meetings on commission reporting, outstanding invoices, job reconciliation and manage escalated issues
  • Oversee VAT, withholding tax, payroll preparation, pension administration, and serve as a senior escalation point for payment and compliance queries
  • Drive projects to enhance the finance and client payments teams, driving efficiencies and maintaining a high reputation within the wide business and external stakeholders
  • Support the Head of Finance with month/year-end close, group consolidations, budgeting, forecasting, audits, and preparation of accounts for SPVs and subsidiaries
  • Drive process and systems improvements in client finance, embedding best practice and delivering training to ensure high-quality standards across the team
  • Serve as a super-user for key financial systems (SAGE, Xero, etc.), supporting enhancements and delivering training as needed

About You:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong post-qualification experience
  • Track record in the entertainment/media/creative industries; prior client finance/talent management accounting experience is highly desirable
  • Experience of managing both month & year end accounting, including managing the audit process
  • Experience managing and developing a small finance team in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong technical skills and a solid understanding of VAT, withholding tax, and industry finance nuances (SSC experience beneficial)
  • Advanced system knowledge, particularly Excel and leading accounting software (SAGE, QuickBooks, Xero)
  • Confident communicator with a collaborative style, able to build relationships across teams, clients, and stakeholders
  • Highly organised, detail-orientated, and solutions-driven, thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
