As Commercial Finance Director, you\’ll lead and elevate the global Commercial Finance team, embedding a culture of high performance, collaboration, precision, and partnership. You\’ll work closely with the CFO, Executive Leadership Team, and investors to deliver strategic financial insight, commercial clarity, and relentless performance improvement.

You\’ll oversee budgeting, forecasting, pricing, and commercial analysis — turning complexity into strategy, and data into stories that drive confident decision-making at board level.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing global Commercial Finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation. Being a visible and present leader for both the team and business
• Partner with the CFO and Executive Team to shape financial strategy, investor engagement, and board reporting.
• Own and refine financial planning processes — budgeting, forecasting, long-range modelling, and scenario analysis.
• Build and evolve SaaS-aligned reporting frameworks and KPIs (ACV, profit by product/customer, headcount, cost analysis).
• Deliver timely, accurate, and actionable financial insights to drive commercial performance and growth.
• Oversee management reporting from P&L to EBITDA, R&D, Capex, and OKR tracking.
• Act as a strategic partner to Sales, Marketing, Product, Data, and Content teams to drive value creation.
• Prepare clear, data-driven narrative reports for board, PE partners, and investors.
• Support M&A and due diligence processes.
• Champion system automation and data integrity across BI, ERP, and planning tools to enhance reporting efficiency.

Candidate Profile

• Fully qualified accountant with extensive PQE (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven success leading high-performing Commercial Finance or FP&A teams in global environments.
• Experience in SaaS, data-driven, or PE-backed businesses desirable.
• Strong communicator able to translate complex data into simple, strategic narratives.
• Expert in financial modelling and analytics (Excel, VBA, Python, Power BI).
• Track record of implementing FP&A systems, process improvements, and scalable reporting frameworks.
• Strategic thinker with hands-on leadership style and strong stakeholder influence.
• Exposure to maritime, compliance, or risk analytics sectors a plus.
