An established TV production company is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting into the Finance Manager, this role involves day-to-day accounting and transactional finance responsibilities essential to supporting accurate financial reporting and compliance within a fast-paced production environment.
The company is renowned for producing thought provoking and interesting TV shows that are enjoyed by audiences across the globe.
To be a suitable candidate, you will need to have relevant finance experience, and it is essential that this has been gained within a TV/Film or related Entertainment/Creative environment. You will have strong communication/interpersonal skills and be happy within an SME environment.
This is a great opportunity for an individual who loves working within a small and friendly team where you will interact with the business on a regular basis.
This is a hybrid role and will expect you to be in their Central London (Zone 1) at least 3 days a week.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with the preparation of month end duties, including preparing, reviewing and reconciling of balance sheets, accruals and prepayments
- Bank reconciliations
- Preparation of VAT Returns
- Full maintenance and reconciliation of the Accounts Payable ledger from receipt of invoice through to preparing payment runs
- Prepare & issue invoices and follow through until payment has been received
- Manage the monthly payroll and administer the company pension scheme
- Track and compare actual expenses against budget and highlight any variances
- Assist with year end accounting and audits
- Relevant experience gained within a TV, Entertainment or Media/Creative environment
- Experience of assisting with month end duties including balance sheets, accruals, prepayments and variance analysis
- Strong ledgers background and preferably payroll experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Great attention to detail, highly organised and able to think in a logical and methodical manner
- Positive, can-do attitude, who can multi-task, is deadline driven and completes tasks to the end
- Strong systems and Excel skills
