Newark Recruitment is currently recruiting Healthcare Assistants on behalf of a care provider supporting adults with a range of care and support needs. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work as part of the care team to provide high-quality care and support, promoting the dignity, independence, wellbeing and safety of the individuals in your care.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing person-centred care and support to residents
- Assisting with personal care, washing, dressing and personal hygiene
- Supporting residents with mobility and daily living activities
- Supporting with meals, hydration and nutrition
- Assisting with medication where required and in line with training and service procedures
- Supporting residents with social and recreational activities
- Encouraging independence and maintaining dignity at all times
- Supporting residents to attend appointments where required
- Communicating effectively with residents, colleagues and other professionals
- Maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment
- Following individual care plans, risk assessments and relevant policies and procedures
- Reporting any changes in residents' health, behaviour or wellbeing to the appropriate senior staff
- Working effectively as part of a wider care team
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in healthcare, care or support work is desirable
- Experience supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health or other complex needs is desirable
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A caring, patient and professional approach
- Ability to work flexibly according to service requirements
- Reliable and committed approach to work
- Willingness to learn and complete required training
Training and Development
Full training and relevant role-specific training will be provided to successful candidates. Candidates must be willing to complete all mandatory training and follow the required care and safeguarding procedures.
