We are seeking a hands-on Powertrain Test & Validation Engineer to support the development and validation of electric powertrain systems, focusing on Power Electronics (PE) and Motor/Generator (MG) technologies. The role acts as the key technical interface between the design engineering team and test facilities, ensuring accurate execution of validation activities, high-quality data capture, and effective root cause analysis of system issues. This position is highly practical, data-driven, and collaborative, requiring strong test execution capability combined with analytical problem-solving skills in an automotive electrification environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and manage daily powertrain test cell activities (setup, commissioning, execution, teardown)
- Develop and execute test procedures for validation of PE + MG systems
- Translate engineering requirements into structured test plans and validation activities
- Support instrumentation setup, DAQ configuration, and test rig readiness
- Collect, validate, and ensure integrity of test data prior to release
- Perform post-processing and analysis using MATLAB and/or ANSYS tools
- Investigate system/component failures and perform structured root cause analysis
- Apply Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and structured problem-solving methodologies
- Work closely with design and simulation teams to correlate test vs simulation results
