You will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime and supporting operational efficiency across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, repairing equipment and replacing components where required.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
  • Use the CMMS system to manage maintenance tasks, prioritise workloads and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Support condition‑based monitoring activities and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Install, maintain and test electrical and mechanical equipment, including control panels and fixed installations.
  • Work on hydraulic, pneumatic and PLC‑controlled equipment.
  • Interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Assist with new equipment installations, site improvement projects and sustainability initiatives.
  • Maintain engineering tools and equipment to a high standard.
  • Coordinate with contractors where required, including reviewing RAMS and issuing permits to work.
  • Assist with sourcing spare parts and processing purchase orders.
  • Support facilities maintenance, including buildings, utilities and infrastructure.
  • Carry out risk assessments and contribute to the development of safe systems of work.
  • Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to ensure maintenance priorities are achieved.
  • Provide overtime support when required to meet business needs.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent).
  • GCSE Grade 5 (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a maintenance engineering role.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills.
  • Experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Good IT skills with experience using maintenance management systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • A proactive, organised and solutions‑focused approach.

You will be a motivated Maintenance Engineer who enjoys solving problems, working as part of a team and taking ownership of maintenance activities.

You'll be comfortable balancing planned maintenance with reactive repairs while continually looking for ways to improve equipment performance and site efficiency.

If you’re looking for a varied engineering role where no two days are the same, we’d love to hear from you.

We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment in line with the Equality Act 2010.
