Salary: £36,000 - £45,000 + Benefits

Are you a Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and process optimisation? Our client is seeking a proactive engineer to support production by improving assembly processes, increasing efficiency and driving operational excellence across the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions and visual factory documentation.
  • Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen and 6S projects.
  • Design jigs, fixtures, tooling, shadow boards and shop floor layouts to improve productivity and workflow.
  • Maintain production routings within SAP and support Engineering Change Requests (ECR/ECN).
  • Create KPIs, visual management boards and production performance reporting.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using A3 problem-solving techniques.
  • Produce CAD layouts and technical drawings to optimise factory flow and assembly operations.
  • Support FMEA, Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and process validation activities.

About You

  • Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineer or Continuous Improvement role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement techniques.
  • Experience using SolidWorks or AutoCAD (2D AutoCAD desirable).
  • SAP experience, including production routings and data management.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Organised, detail-focused and able to communicate effectively across all levels of the business.
