Are you an experienced CNC Machinist looking to join a growing, forward-thinking manufacturing business investing heavily in its future? Our client is a global manufacturer with an outstanding reputation for designing and producing specialist engineered products supplied to a wide range of industries worldwide. Following significant investment in a brand-new production facility, they are expanding their machining team and are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to play a key role in their continued growth.

The Role

Working within the toolroom, you'll manufacture precision components for both in-house tooling and customer orders, producing high-quality, low-volume complex parts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving and working closely with design and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Programming and operating CNC lathes and milling machines
  • Using 3D CAD models to generate machining programmes via CAM software
  • Producing precision components to exacting quality standards
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Supporting the design and manufacture of tooling, fixtures and jigs
  • Working collaboratively to achieve production targets and delivery deadlines

To be successful, you'll have:

  • At least 2 years' CNC machining experience within a precision engineering environment
  • Experience using Heidenhain controls
  • The ability to machine small batches of complex, high-precision components
  • Confidence working from engineering drawings
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively within a team

Desirable experience includes:

  • Inventor CAM or similar CAM software
  • Designing or manufacturing fixtures and jigs
  • Sliding head lathe experience
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality environment
