Are you an experienced CNC Machinist looking to join a growing, forward-thinking manufacturing business investing heavily in its future? Our client is a global manufacturer with an outstanding reputation for designing and producing specialist engineered products supplied to a wide range of industries worldwide. Following significant investment in a brand-new production facility, they are expanding their machining team and are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to play a key role in their continued growth.
The Role
Working within the toolroom, you'll manufacture precision components for both in-house tooling and customer orders, producing high-quality, low-volume complex parts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving and working closely with design and engineering teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Programming and operating CNC lathes and milling machines
- Using 3D CAD models to generate machining programmes via CAM software
- Producing precision components to exacting quality standards
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Supporting the design and manufacture of tooling, fixtures and jigs
- Working collaboratively to achieve production targets and delivery deadlines
To be successful, you'll have:
- At least 2 years' CNC machining experience within a precision engineering environment
- Experience using Heidenhain controls
- The ability to machine small batches of complex, high-precision components
- Confidence working from engineering drawings
- A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively within a team
Desirable experience includes:
- Inventor CAM or similar CAM software
- Designing or manufacturing fixtures and jigs
- Sliding head lathe experience
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality environment
