The Role:
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Software Validation & Verification Engineer to join an established engineering team working on advanced electro-mechanical products within a highly regulated environment. This role will focus on developing and implementing robust software and firmware V&V processes, creating effective test environments and supporting the delivery of reliable, high-quality products. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and play a key role in software quality throughout the full product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, document and execute software and firmware validation and verification activities
- Create and maintain software test environments and processes
- Support the design, development and testing of software solutions
- Participate in Agile team activities including stand-ups, planning, reviews and retrospectives
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for software systems
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and test records
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering projects
- Work in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 procedures and company standards
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong background in software validation and verification
- Experience working across the full software lifecycle
- Commercial experience with: C, C++, C#, .NET, Visual Studio
- Experience within Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience testing safety-critical functions
- Ability to create and capture software/firmware test requirements
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Able to manage workloads and projects to agreed deadlines
Desirable Experience:
- LabVIEW
- Embedded software development
- Android/cross-platform application development
- Understanding of electronics and schematic reviews
- Experience working with electro-mechanical products
Additional Information:
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible to obtain SC level security clearance. A full UK driving licence and valid passport are required as occasional customer and supplier visits may be involved.
