Location: Rochester

Salary: £37,232 + Regular Overtime (OTE £46,000)

Hours: 55 hours per week, 2 week rolling shift pattern

  • Week 1: 5 days on, 1 day off
  • Week 2: 5 days on, 2 days off

Key responsibilities:

  • Transporting goods to customers across the UK and Scotland
  • Maintaining compliance with driving laws and regulations
  • Completing vehicle checks, defect reporting and driver hour requirements
  • Carrying out a variety of trailer work, including refrigerated trailers, curtain siders, low loaders and containers
  • Loading and unloading trailers at collection and drop off locations
  • Completing delivery, collection and transport documentation accurately
  • Providing excellent service to customers
  • Maintaining high standards of vehicle cleanliness and presentation
  • Operating a forklift or pump truck when required (training provided where appropriate)
  • Supporting yard shunting activities when required
  • Driving of the company bus where required to transport staff between sites

Please note that vehicles are allocated according to operational requirements, so drivers are not assigned a permanent vehicle.

Experience and skills required:

  • HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence
  • Current Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Previous experience operating HGV Class 1 vehicles
  • Commitment to being able to stay away overnight once per week
  • Strong understanding of driver hours, vehicle compliance and transport legislation
  • A positive, professional and safety-focused approach
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet operational requirements
  • PSV Licence (desirable)
  • Forklift experience (desirable)
