We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a successful team in Ramsgate. This role involves the design, maintenance, and fault-finding of electrical systems for machinery and equipment, with opportunities to work on automation projects.
Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems for machinery and ancillary equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimise downtime.
- Support installation, commissioning, and integration of new equipment.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to provide technical support and improvements.
- Ensure all electrical work meets relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain good housekeeping and undertake 5S activities in maintenance areas.
- Conduct monthly inspections and testing of emergency lighting.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and process optimisation; automation experience is desirable.
Skills & Experience / Qualifications
- Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, or minimum 2 years' experience.
- Proven experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with electrical design, fault-finding, and use of electrical test equipment.
- Knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA, or automation systems is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Awareness of relevant health, safety, and compliance standards.
