We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Project Engineer to join our team in Gillingham. Whether your background is in electrical or mechanical engineering, this is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career and grow into project management.
Working in a highly regulated environment, you will play a key role in delivering engineering projects to national, international, and client-specific standards. You’ll work closely with Sales, Design, and Production teams and report directly to a Project Manager. Ongoing training and development will be provided to support your growth.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and define the scope of projects, ensuring customer specifications and requirements are met
- Estimate project timelines and budgets, meeting both customer and business objectives
- Produce and manage project documentation, including Quality Plans, Certificates of Conformity, and Installation/Operation Manuals
- Monitor and report on project progress to senior management and customers
- Liaise with customers and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution
- Review CAD drawings and support production through the generation of MRP parts, BOMs, and drawing packages
- HNC qualification or apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline
- Proven experience in a full-time project engineering role
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently
- Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad as needed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with sheet metal component design and manufacture
- Understanding of 3D CAD software (e.g., DraftSight, SolidWorks)
- Knowledge of ISO 9001/14001, electrical standards, or design for hazardous environments (ATEX)
- Experience with heating and ventilation systems, offshore or renewable sectors
- Proficiency in MRP systems (e.g., Javelin) and Microsoft Project
- A structured development path toward project management
- Exposure to a wide range of engineering disciplines and regulated standards
