We are recruiting for a Material Planning Expeditor to join a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in supply chain, logistics, materials planning, procurement, or manufacturing support who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment and building strong supplier relationships.

Following an initial training period of approximately three weeks onsite, the role will move to a hybrid working arrangement with three days per week onsite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Validate shipment plans with suppliers and maintain a rolling delivery schedule.
  • Track inbound shipments and monitor material availability across multiple sites.
  • Manage purchase orders and update planning systems accordingly.
  • Review supplier order boards and follow up on overdue or critical deliveries.
  • Support inventory and supply planning activities to meet production requirements.
  • Participate in daily and weekly planning meetings.
  • Provide accurate updates on delivery schedules and material availability.
  • Liaise with internal teams and suppliers to resolve supply issues and minimise disruption.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across planning and supply chain processes.
About You
  • Previous experience within supply chain, logistics, materials planning, inventory control, procurement, or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using ERP or planning systems would be advantageous.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
