An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy and well-established manufacturing operation. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in keeping equipment running safely and efficiently.
Working as part of the Engineering team, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across production and site equipment.
- Respond promptly to electrical and mechanical breakdowns, diagnosing faults and completing repairs.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Work closely with production teams to reduce downtime and improve operational performance.
- Assist with spare parts identification and stock management.
- Support continuous improvement and capital projects.
- Mentor and assist colleagues where required.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out and Permit to Work systems.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with company procedures and required quality standards.
- Recognised electrical apprenticeship with strong mechanical engineering skills.
- Minimum of five years' experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive, proactive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Flexible attitude towards training and development.
- HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience working with PLCs and machine control systems.
- Knowledge of HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Experience with multi-head weighing and filling equipment.
- Previous experience within a high-care manufacturing environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
