Our client, a leading global manufacturer is seeking a Junior Packaging Technologist to join their team at their site in Folkestone, Kent. This is a full-time, on-site position and is temporary ongoing. The Role

As a Junior Packaging Technologist, you will support the development, testing, and implementation of packaging solutions across a range of consumer products, ensuring packaging meets quality, safety, sustainability, and cost objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct laboratory and packaging tests, experiments, and trial activities in line with established procedures.
  • Assist with the development, evaluation, and validation of packaging concepts and materials.
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret test data, preparing accurate technical reports and documentation.
  • Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, packaging specifications, and testing results.
  • Coordinate packaging trials and support the introduction of new packaging into production.
  • Work collaboratively with R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Marketing, Quality, and external suppliers to support product development projects.
  • Assist in troubleshooting packaging issues on production lines and identifying practical solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance testing methods, packaging performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Help ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, quality standards, and internal procedures.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Packaging Technology, Food Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across different teams.
  • Knowledge of packaging materials, sustainability principles, and basic packaging regulations would be advantageous.
