We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Assembly & Stores Person to join a busy engineering operation in Sittingbourne. This role combines light assembly work with general stores and materials handling duties, supporting the smooth running of production and workshop activities.
You will be responsible for assembling small components, managing incoming and outgoing materials, and ensuring the stores area is kept organised and well-stocked. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work and being part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out basic assembly of components and sub-assemblies following instructions
- Pick, pack, and issue materials to production and workshop teams
- Receive, check, and book in deliveries accurately
- Maintain accurate stock records using internal systems
- Keep the stores and assembly areas clean, safe, and well organised
- Assist with stock checks and cycle counts
- Support colleagues with general workshop and logistics tasks as required
- Follow health & safety procedures at all times
- Previous experience in assembly, production, warehousing, or stores is desirable but not essential
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Basic IT skills for stock control systems
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
