Job Title: Hygiene Technician
Location: Rochester, Kent
Job Purpose:
Ensure all machinery and external areas of the factory meet the company’s hygiene standards through effective cleaning and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain high visual and microbiological hygiene standards across the site.
- Address and report challenges to the Hygiene Team Leader.
- Safely handle chemicals in line with COSHH training.
- Follow hygiene, food safety, quality, and H&S procedures.
- Perform deep cleaning, machine washdowns, and external area maintenance.
- Accurately complete documentation and records.
- Undertake manual handling tasks (up to 25kg).
- Clean non-operational areas, including toilets, canteens, and warehouses.
- Operate cleaning equipment during scheduled shutdowns and adhere to work instructions and safety protocols.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Essential:
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Practical skills and ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative.
- Good communication skills (including English).
- Flexibility to work in hot environments, confined spaces, or at heights.
Desirable:
- Prior hygiene experience.
Education and Competencies:
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Willingness to undergo required training.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM (45 hours per week).
