Location: Remote (with occasional travel to Darlington, UK)

Contract Duration: 6 months

We are looking for a German‐speaking Payroll Specialist to work for our large international client on a temporary basis, with strong potential for extension or a permanent position. This is a remote role with quarterly travel to the Darlington office and occasional travel to Germany if required.

You will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll for German sites in compliance with local legislation and internal controls.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external agencies on payroll‐related matters.
  • Respond to queries on tax, social security, illness, and insurance, including audits.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and workflow procedures.
  • Support and attend virtual customer meetings related to payroll in Germany.
  • Drive and participate in process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Fluent German (professional level).
  • Solid knowledge of German payroll legislation.
  • Experience using SAP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem‐solving skills, and customer focus.
Desirable Competencies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of payroll and HR compliance standards.
  • Experience working in a shared services or multinational environment.
