Hours: Monday to Friday, with an early finish on Friday!
The role: The Store Person will be the key link to ensuring production runs smoothly from order intake through to dispatch.
Benefits: 23 days annual leave, increasing with service up to 25 days + bank holidays. Company pension.
Key responsibilities would be:
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels.
- Perform regular stock checks and audits, reporting any discrepancies.
- Accept deliveries, unload goods and verify items and quantities against purchase orders.
- Ensure smooth flow of orders, materials and dispatch.
- Receive and process customer orders.
- Issue work orders and production instructions.
- Coordinate materials and production requirements.
- Inspect all incoming goods for defects and damages.
- Label and store items in the correct locations.
- Implement effective stock rotation to minimise waste.
- Accurately pick and pack customer orders for dispatch.
- Assist with loading outgoing goods.
- Work with suppliers, transport companies and internal teams to coordinate deliveries.
- Resolve any issues promptly and efficiently.
- Safely operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Adhere to all workplace health and safety regulations.
- Ensure the workplace is clean, tidy and safe at all times.
Experience and skills required:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or stores environment.
- A valid forklift licence would be preferred but not essential.
- The ability to lift heavy items and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A detail-orientated approach with high levels of accuracy.
- Have a methodical approach and be able to organise and prioritise your own workload.
- Strong IT skills and computer literacy.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
