We are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant to join a well-established manufacturing business based in the Dover area on a 3-month temporary contract. Reporting to the Senior Buyer, you will support the day-to-day procurement function, ensuring the timely and cost-effective purchase of goods and services while maintaining strong supplier relationships. This is a full time role Monday to Friday with the possible opportunity of Hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the end-to-end procurement process
- Raise and manage purchase orders
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
- Assist with supplier sourcing and pricing
- Monitor stock levels and support inventory control
- Resolve supplier queries and delivery issues
- Support internal departments with procurement requirements
- Maintain accurate data within SAP/ERP systems
- Assist with reporting using Excel
Person Specification
- Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role
- Experience using ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail
