We are working with an established and reputable law firm in Canterbury who is seeking an experienced Commercial Property Secretary to join its friendly team. This is a key opportunity for a legal secretary with solid experience in commercial property law and strong audio typing skills to become a valued member of a busy department.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing full secretarial support to the Partner, including audio typing via digital dictation
  • Preparing and formatting legal documentation such as leases, deeds, Land Registry forms, and completion statements
  • Handling all aspects of commercial property transactions: ordering searches, obtaining Companies House documents, and dealing with exchange and completion
  • Managing Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) calculations, submissions, and payments
  • Liaising with clients, agents, and other solicitors as needed
  • Coordinating diary appointments and monitoring key deadlines for the Partner
  • Managing client files from opening through to archiving, ensuring efficient file maintenance and compliance
  • Supporting with general administrative tasks such as reception cover, post distribution, and team support when required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a commercial property legal secretary role is essential
  • Proven ability to carry out audio typing using digital dictation
  • Confident communication skills with a client-focused, professional manner
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational ability

  • Hours: Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm
  • 23 days plus 8 bank holidays (After 2 years' service - increases to 26 days + 8 bank holidays)
