An opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer to join a busy Engineering team, supporting a range of manufacturing technologies and production processes. This role focuses on the creation and maintenance of 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation used across the business.

Reporting to the Head of Project Engineering, you will work closely with engineering, production and maintenance teams to support design activities, drawing updates and production engineering improvements. This position is well suited to someone looking to develop their experience within a structured manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using Autodesk Inventor
  • Support the design and development of components, tooling and production equipment
  • Produce clear manufacturing drawings and technical documentation
  • Maintain engineering data, drawing revisions and file structures within a PDM system
  • Assist with design changes and drawing updates to support production improvements
  • Support production engineering activities including tooling layouts and equipment modifications
  • Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
  • Assist with technical investigations and problem-solving activities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of drawing standards and engineering processes

Skills & Experience:

  • Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Experience using 3D CAD software
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate technical drawings
  • Methodical and organised approach to work
  • Good communication skills and ability to work across teams

Desirable (not essential):

  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Vault or other PDM systems
  • Exposure to FEA tools such as Nastran or similar
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments

Training and development will be provided for the right candidate.
