Location: Ashford

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:30pm, plus alternate Saturdays, 7:00am - 11:00am

We are currently recruiting for an Assembly & Yard Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business in Ashford. This is an excellent temporary-to-permanent opportunity for a hardworking and reliable individual who enjoys a hands-on role within a busy production and yard environment. Working as part of the operations team, you will be responsible for completing the final assembly of products, preparing orders for dispatch, and supporting yard activities to ensure customer orders are delivered accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out final assembly tasks, including fitting nuts, bolts, locks, push pads, and other components
  • Accurately pick, label, and pack customer orders from order sheets
  • Wrap and package products carefully to prevent damage during transportation
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Complete daily equipment checks and maintain accurate records
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve daily production and dispatch targets
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the workshop and yard areas
  • Support other departments and operational areas as required

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, yard, or production environment
  • Ability to carry out manual handling and heavy lifting duties
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Reliable, hardworking, and able to work on own initiative
  • A valid forklift licence would be advantageous but is not essential
