We are recruiting a Project Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team, taking ownership of projects from concept through to completion. This position combines mechanical design with hands-on project delivery and is ideal for someone who enjoys seeing their work progress from initial concept to installation.
Responsibilities
- Design engineered products and systems using CAD (AutoCAD / SolidWorks).
- Produce drawings, layouts, and design calculations.
- Support the full project lifecycle from technical requirements to installation.
- Coordinate with suppliers, customers, and internal engineering teams.
- Manage project progress, costings, and documentation.
- Develop new designs and improve existing solutions.
Requirements
- Engineering qualification (HND/HNC, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- CAD experience (training available where necessary).
- Previous design and/or project engineering experience.
- Experience in the UK water industry (advantage but not essential).
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
