A well-established engineering business with decades of experience providing industrial mechanical solutions is seeking a
Mechanical Fitter to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys mechanical problem‑solving and working on the strip‑down, inspection and rebuild of industrial equipment.
The position will involve working on
blower vacuum pumps, rotary valves, pumps, gearboxes and pneumatic systems, ensuring equipment is repaired, refurbished and reassembled to a high standard of quality and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Disassembly, assessment and reassembly for repair of
blower vacuum pumps and rotary valves
- Making accurate measurement readings, replacing key components and reassembling products using notes taken during initial inspection
- Mechanical fitting, servicing and refurbishment of
pumps, gearboxes and pneumatic assemblies
- Fault‑finding and diagnosis of mechanical and pneumatic issues
- Completing maintenance records and service reports accurately, both on paper and using a tablet
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently and in line with quality standards
- Maintaining good housekeeping and following company safety procedures
Basic Qualifications
- Recognised
Experience working with
- Working knowledge of
health and safety protocols in an engineering environment
- Excellent coordination and strong mechanical skills
- High attention to detail, accuracy and safety
- Self‑motivated with a proactive approach to work
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to lift up to
25kg and carry out repetitive manual tasks
