The Live-in Carer is responsible for providing high-quality, person-centered care and continuous support to an individual within their own home environment. They also promote the client's physical, emotional, and psychological well-being while enabling them to maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Personal Care: Assist with personal care and promote client independence.
  • Daily Living Support: Support with meals, mobility, and household tasks as outlined in the care plan.
  • Medication Support: Administer or support medication and maintain records.
  • Emotional & Social Support: Offer companionship, emotional support, and encourage client's social and recreational engagement.
  • Mobility and Transport Assistance: Assist with safe movement within the home and accompany the client to appointments, social activities, or errands when required.
  • Record-Keeping & Reporting: Maintain care records, report health changes promptly, and adhere to organisational policies and safeguarding standards.
  • Professional Conduct: Demonstrate professionalism and respect, uphold data protection, and participate in ongoing training.
  • Health & Safety: Work safely; follow risk assessments, infection control, and manual handling procedures.
  • Medicines: Administer safely and record accurately. (Medicines Act 1968 & Misuse of Drugs Act 1971)
  • Regulatory Compliance: Follow CQC Fundamental Standards and NICE guidelines.

Qualifications

  • DBS clearance required.
  • No prior experience required; full training will be provided.
  • Full UK driving licence and reliable vehicle access.
  • Proven experience in providing compassionate, person-centered care to individuals living with dementia.
  • Must be able to live on-site and provide consistent care in accordance with agreed working patterns, demonstrating flexibility to meet the client's needs.
