Role Overview
Reporting to the Head of Retail Experience, the Senior Retail Designer will play a key role in shaping and delivering the Diamonds Factory retail environment. This position is responsible for designing new store concepts, producing technical design packages, and supporting projects from initial concept through to successful store opening. Working closely with Project Management, Operations, Visual Merchandising, and external contractors, the successful candidate will ensure all retail environments reflect the Diamonds Factory brand while delivering exceptional customer experiences and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Retail Design & Development: Design new Diamonds Factory stores in line with brand standards, developing innovative store layouts and space planning solutions whilst adapting concepts to suit different locations and market requirements.
- Technical Design: Produce detailed technical drawing packages for construction, including joinery, fixtures, furniture, and signage schedules. Coordinate technical information with contractors and consultants and review technical drawings to ensure design accuracy.
- Visualisation & Rendering: Create high-quality 3D visualisations and renderings to communicate design concepts effectively and support stakeholder decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
- Store Openings & Project Support: Support projects from concept through to store opening, conducting site visits and surveys where required. Work closely with Project Managers and contractors to ensure successful project delivery and maintain design integrity throughout construction.
- Standards & Continuous Improvement: Maintain and develop retail design standards and guidance documentation, whilst identifying opportunities for value engineering, cost efficiencies, and continuous improvement across the retail estate.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Retail Design, Interior Design, or Architectural Design.
- Proven experience delivering retail store opening projects from concept to completion.
- Strong technical drawing and construction documentation experience.
- Excellent visualisation and rendering skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience using SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, or similar 3D design software.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience within luxury retail, jewellery, watches, fashion, hospitality, or premium consumer brands.
- International retail project experience.
- Experience working with landlords, shopping centres, and external property stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of retail customer journeys and experiential design.
