Austen and Blake is an established fine jewellery brand specialising in bespoke craftsmanship, innovative design and exceptional customer experience. With a growing international presence and a strong network of showrooms, the business operates across both physical and digital retail channels and continues to expand its design and product offering. This role is hybrid and based in London for three days per week, with travel required.
Responsibilities
- Carry out and present research, design development and finalised designs in line with the brand vision.
- Create clear and creative designs through sketching and Adobe Illustrator.
- Design with a strong understanding of international markets and commercial approach.
- Research design, technical and market trends within fine jewellery.
- Manage tight deadlines while maintaining creativity, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Create high quality finalised designs suitable to be briefed to the Product Development team.
- Design with commercial awareness, with margins, costs and ease of manufacture taken into account.
- Collaborate across teams for cohesive brand vision and project efficiency, particularly with Product, Merchandising and Retail teams, based in the UK and India.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- A Degree in jewellery design.
- Minimum two years' experience in a designer role within fine jewellery for the UK or US market.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes and technical requirements.
- Understanding of diamonds, gemstones and precious metals.
- Strong interest in jewellery trends, innovation and materials.
- Solution-focused mindset with a proactive approach.
- Proven experience working to deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.
