Neve Jewels System is seeking a highly experienced Front Office Architect to design and drive the technology architecture for our multi‑brand, multi‑country, omnichannel retail ecosystem. This is a senior, cross‑functional leadership role with significant strategic impact. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in modern eCommerce architectures (headless/composable commerce), strong business understanding of luxury retail operations, and proven ability to unify customer journeys across web, mobile, and physical stores at scale.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Omnichannel Architecture Design
    • Define and own the end‑to‑end architecture for all customer‑facing systems across brands and geographies:
      • Mobile applications (iOS and Android)
      • In‑store POS and clienteling systems
      • Marketing automation / CRM / Loyalty
      • Unified customer journeys: BOPIS, endless aisle, cross‑channel cart & wishlist
      • Consistent, premium brand experience across every touchpoint
    • Architect and implement a MACH‑aligned (Microservices, API‑first, Cloud‑native, Headless) commerce platform:
      • Evaluate and implement platforms such as commercetools or equivalent composable commerce solutions
      • Design reusable, independently deployable services: Product Catalog, Pricing & Promotions, Cart & Checkout, Customer Profiles & Loyalty
      • Establish API design standards and governance across all commerce services
  • Multi‑Brand & Multi‑Region Enablement
    • Architect solutions that support the full complexity of Neve's global portfolio:
      • Country‑specific websites with full localisation (currency, language, taxation, compliance, data residency)
      • Configurable brand theming and experience personalisation per market
      • Global standardisation balanced with regional flexibility
    • Define the architecture for intelligent, data‑driven customer engagement:
      • Personalisation engines integrating customer behavioural and transactional data
      • Customer segmentation and lifecycle management
      • Loyalty programme architecture and CRM integration
      • 360° customer profile across online and offline channels
    • Design seamless, resilient integrations with core backend systems:
      • Order Management Systems (OMS) — distributed order routing, fulfilment orchestration
      • Inventory & Warehouse Management Systems (WMS/IMS)
      • ERP platforms (finance, procurement, supply chain)
      • Third‑party logistics and carrier integrations
      • Real‑time and near‑real‑time data synchronisation patterns
  • Performance, Scalability & Reliability
    • Architect systems engineered for premium retail demands:
      • High availability (99.99%+ SLA) for peak campaign and launch events
      • Global CDN strategy and edge delivery architecture
      • Load testing, capacity planning, and auto‑scaling frameworks
      • Observability: distributed tracing, logging, alerting, and dashboards
  • Payments & Compliance
    • Design a flexible, globally compliant payment and regulatory architecture:
      • Multiple payment gateways with intelligent routing and fallback
      • Region‑specific payment methods (UPI, BNPL, digital wallets, etc.)
      • Multi‑currency support and dynamic tax calculation
      • PCI DSS compliance, tokenisation, and fraud detection integration
      • GDPR, CCPA, and regional data privacy compliance by design
  • Technology Governance & Standards
    • Establish and enforce engineering standards across all front‑office teams:
      • Frontend framework standards (React, Next.js, or agreed equivalents)
      • Security standards — OWASP compliance, secrets management, access controls
      • Architecture review board participation and sign‑off processes
      • Documentation standards and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs)
  • Team Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Act as the principal technical bridge between business vision and engineering execution:
      • Work closely with business stakeholders — marketing, retail, merchandising, and finance
      • Partner with product managers to translate roadmap into architectural decisions
      • Mentor and guide engineering leads and solution architects
      • Communicate architecture strategy clearly to executive leadership

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Technical Expertise
    • 12+ years of experience in eCommerce or digital commerce architecture
    • Hands‑on experience with headless / composable commerce platforms (commercetools, Elastic Path, VTEX, or similar)
    • Deep knowledge of microservices architecture, API‑first design, and event‑driven systems
    • Frontend architecture: React, Next.js, or equivalent modern frameworks
    • Experience with GraphQL, REST, and async messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
    • Search & discovery architecture (Algolia, Elasticsearch, Coveo)
    • Experience with A/B testing and feature flag platforms
  • Domain Knowledge
    • Deep understanding of omnichannel retail — digital and physical channel integration
    • Multi‑brand and multi‑country operations at scale
    • POS and in‑store systems integration (NewStore, or equivalent)
    • Customer journey mapping and conversion optimisation
    • Retail operations: fulfilment, inventory management, returns, and reverse logistics
    • Distributed systems design and resilience patterns (circuit breakers, bulkheads, retries)
    • Event‑driven and CQRS/Event Sourcing architecture
    • Scalability and performance engineering (caching strategies, CDN, lazy loading)
    • Security architecture best practices (OWASP, zero‑trust, SIEM)
  • Soft Skills
    • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication
    • Strategic thinking with hands‑on execution capability
    • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive alignment across large, cross‑functional teams
    • Experience working in Agile/SAFe delivery frameworks

  • Experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems in a product catalogue context
  • Exposure to Headless CMS and visual merchandising tooling
