Overview

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Jewellery Repair Workshop Manager to lead our luxury repair workshop, supporting the brand’s commitment to excellence, precision, and client satisfaction.
  • This role will oversee all aspects of workshop operations — from team performance and workflow management to metal recovery and health and safety — ensuring that every piece entrusted to us is treated with the utmost care and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of jewellers, polishers, setters, and technicians to achieve the highest standards of quality and productivity.
  • Implement structured training and mentoring programmes to nurture technical expertise and maintain consistency across all repair work.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set clear objectives, and foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and pride in workmanship.

Workflow Management

  • Manage and coordinate the daily workflow of the workshop, ensuring all jobs are assigned to the most suitable team member based on their skill set and expertise.
  • Balance workloads and priorities to ensure the timely completion of all repairs in line with brand service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintain accurate tracking of job progress and ensure clear communication with retail and aftersales teams regarding repair status and timelines.
  • Continuously refine workflow systems to optimise efficiency without compromising quality.

Performance Management

  • Monitor workshop output, quality, and turnaround times, implementing improvements where required.Set and review performance metrics and KPIs aligned with brand standards and customer expectations.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement to elevate the client experience and enhance productivity.

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure the workshop operates in full compliance with Health and Safety regulations and internal policies.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, maintaining a safe, professional, and organised workspace.
  • Provide regular health and safety training to all team members.

Metal Recovery & Stock Management

  • Oversee precious metal recovery processes, ensuring full accountability and traceability in accordance with brand and financial protocols.
  • Manage the control and replenishment of workshop materials, tools and consumables.
  • Collaborate closely with finance and compliance teams to ensure accurate reporting of recovered metals.

Operational & Brand Standards

  • Uphold the brand’s reputation for excellence in every aspect of workshop operation.
  • Work in close partnership with boutique teams, aftersales and logistics to deliver a seamless client experience.
  • Ensure all repairs meet or exceed brand quality standards, maintaining consistency across all pieces and processes.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in managing a jewellery repair or production workshop within a luxury retail environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a passion for developing and mentoring skilled artisans.
  • Deep understanding of fine jewellery repair techniques, materials and craftsmanship.
  • Excellent organisational and workflow management abilities.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements for workshop environments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, quality focus and appreciation for luxury brand standards.
  • Experience in precious metal recovery and inventory management is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in jewellery manufacture or repair (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent) preferred.
  • Management or leadership training qualifications advantageous.
